About me

About me

Illustrator from Kassel

My name is Ronny, and I’m an illustrator and author from Kassel. Even as a child, I spent hours reading and drawing, immersing myself in fantasy worlds. Later, I began writing stories, as well as playing pen-and-paper role-playing games, and developed a passion for visual art.

I drew a lot until my apprenticeship, when an injury forced me to relearn everything. Even today, I am sometimes hampered by a tremor that sets me back. Nevertheless, I have found my way and relearned how to translate my ideas into images.

The decision to focus entirely on my art and my stories was, in essence, the only option left to me when I became a father. Today, I can do what inspires and drives me: creating characters and worlds, telling stories, and making my images accessible to others as high-quality art prints. In doing so, I am constantly learning to represent my ideas visually and to manage my time in a way that my responsibilities as a father allow.

I find it difficult to share my creative process. As soon as a camera starts rolling, I lose motivation, start doubting myself and don’t have the energy to deal with potential criticism. Nevertheless, I don’t just want to show finished works, but also the initial scribbles, the sketch, the line art and finally the digital editing. That’s why I’m slowly getting used to taking photos and starting to get to grips with the camera. I share initial insights and updates on Instagram.

I became a father in 2021, and shortly afterwards I became a single parent. This experience shapes not only my life, but also my art and my outlook: free, supportive, anti-fascist. For me, art means opening up new perspectives and taking a stand.

With your support, I hope to be able to continue my art in the future, not just as a hobby, but as a livelihood for my children and myself. If you like, have a look around my shop or follow me on Instagram. I’d love to hear from you and take on bespoke commissions.
